ABOUT THIS SITE

This website is a culminating project for a class on Jerusalem. I wanted to create a space in which I could consolidate and synthesize the information I learned in the class, along with my experience during our week-long trip to Jerusalem during spring break.

On this site you can find historical information, such as an ancient and contemporary timeline and information on important historical figures. You can also find information about organizations working on the Arab-Israeli conflict.

By making this site, I hope to provide a single, educational source that provides a solid background for understanding the Arab-Israeli conflict. There is a lot more history to be learned and information to be gained, but I hope this site acts as a good starting point.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Rebecca!

I'm a Junior at Rice University taking the class RELI392 -- a seminar on Jerusalem -- and this website is my final project.

I major in English, Religion, and I minor in Jewish Studies, and I'm from Atlanta, Georgia.

I've been involved with the Jewish Community in different ways throughout my life: I attended a Modern Orthodox day school for K-8, my family and I attended a Conservative synagogue, and, since arriving to Rice, I have been involved both with Hillel and Chabad on campus. These different contexts have provided me with different outlooks on Israel and the Arab-Israeli conflict. In taking the Jerusalem Seminar, I hoped to learn about Israel in a way where I could form my own opinions based on facts.
